At Island Recording Studios, it’s our business to make your music sound great. But as far as we’re concerned, that’s only half the job… which is why we’re here to help you publicise your new music as well.

 

These days, if you’re an independent artist trying to make a name and career for yourself, a quality recording is only useful if it comes combined with a slick online presence and media outreach assets that can score you some press and radio coverage. It’s a hyper-saturated world of music out there – with 60,000+ new tracks getting uploaded to Spotify every single day. To be heard, you need to professionally present your music, and engage with media outlets that will broaden your reach and add credibility to your work.

 

We’ve seen far too many artists leave our studio with a killer new single, but no understanding of how to create a good bio or media release – besides throwing thousands of dollars at a publicity company. This inspired us to become the only studio in South Australia to offer in-house publicity support services; originally just for artists who have recorded with us, but now we’re excited to open up this offering to everyone who needs help!

Publicity Support and Release Package

We can provide individual services, but our core offering is our full-service Release Package – a complete kit of essential assets for a DIY new release campaign, providing unmatched value for money. Your assets will be tailor-made via one-on-one consultation with our specialist writer and content creator Nick Pipe, to ensure they suit your individual needs and artistic brand.

Individual Publicity Support & Release Services

Artist Biography

A powerfully written biography suitable for your website, social media, artist profile on Spotify/other streaming platforms, and festival/live performance promotional materials. A professionally written bio can go a long way!

Press Release

An essential part of any promotional campaign. A one-page document telling the story of your new release, complete with artist quotes and links to further information. Journalists and radio presenters will use the media release to learn about your new music, generate coverage on their platforms, and as a cheat-sheet to help them interview you for their publications or on the radio – which means you’ll know what questions to expect!

Spotify Playlist Pitch Blurb

A pitch for submission via Spotify for Artists to get your new single – or the lead track from your EP/album – considered for editorial playlisting by Spotify’s curators. Your pitch will make or break your chances of landing an editorial playlist.

Press Photo

The high-quality ‘hero image’ of you or your band that will become a consistent visual representation of your new release. This photo will be provided to the media to accompany all press coverage about the release, and used for your own key online activities surrounding the release.

Music Distribution & Marketing 101 Course

Access to our special online course on distribution and marketing for new releases. This course will help you plan your release timeline and take care of the essentials: from songwriting registration to getting placed on playlists and played on the radio.

One-On-One Coaching

Embarking on a self-guided journey of learning new skills can be difficult. When it’s an essential skill like knowing how to properly and effectively release your new music, you really want to get it right.
